Our jarras are made by artisan families in Oaxaca, each one carrying the character of the hands and traditions behind it.

Stove Care for Your Handmade Jarra
If you plan to use your jarra on the stove, give the clay a little extra care:

Before its first use, submerge the entire jarra in clean water overnight. This helps the clay absorb moisture before being exposed to heat.

After soaking, let it air dry completely.

Always place the jarra on the stove while it is at room temperature—never heat a cold jarra suddenly.

Start with low heat and gradually increase the temperature if needed. Avoid high or direct heat.

Never place a hot jarra directly onto a cold or wet surface and avoid exposing it to sudden temperature changes.

After cooking or warming, allow the jarra to cool naturally and completely before washing.

Hand wash gently with mild soap and lukewarm water, then allow it to air dry completely.
